Summertime

Whilst lots of people go on a holiday these months, we are working hard on getting our debut EP released. We are now looking hard to get a label involved. (If you are interested; let us know!)
Besides that we are still working on a t-shirt-sale-form (or something) to put on our Myspace and.. website! Yes, we are about to launch our website. Rick is going to work on the design. We hope to have this website live by the end of summer.
Also; we are getting ready to get our asses over to the UK in September. The van has been rented, the ferry has been booked, still a few things to work and we're set to go!
Last but certainly not least we have some more shows to share with you:
August
5: Winston Kingdom, Amsterdam w/ The Flatliners (Can), Long Way Down
9: Uit Je Bak Festival, Castricum w/ Go Back To The Zoo, San Andreas (amongst others)
15: Cafe Asgard, Beverwijk 2/ Otis, +1
22: Panama, Amsterdam w/ Ten Threats, +1
September
15: Cafe Lokaal, Heemskerk w/ The Arteries (UK), Het Brein DKUDR

UK TOUR:

Till the next blog!

Shows, shows, shows!

This weekend will be an exciting one for us!!
We'll be playing the main stage of the Beeckestijn Festival (http://www.beeckestijnpop.nl) @ 16:20h amongst great acts including: De Kift, Drive Like Maria and De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig. To put it in one word: STOKED! If you can please drop by and show us some support that would be great, the festival is free..
We are also playing a bit smaller but just as fun gig this Friday in JC Frats, Bergen, NL. Entrance is also free so feel free to free your mind at our gig that night.

The UK tour is finally coming along pretty well! We probably have all the dates filled, we're waiting on some confirmations... This is how it looks like now:
Thursday September 3rd: Hobgoblin, Brighton (w/The Arteries, The Cut Ups, Serf Combat)
Friday September 4th: TBC, Harrogate
Saturday September 5th: TBC, High Wycombe
Sunday September 6th: Fighting Cocks, Kinston (w/ Down and Outs)

Also we are happy to announce we're playing with The Flatliners (US, Fat Wreck) and Long Way Down in Winston, Amsterdam on Wednesday August 5th! (7 euros) This should be amazing!
The Arteries (UK) will be playing a show with us in Cafe Lokaal, Heemskerk on Tuesday September 15th. Our dear friends of Het Brein Dat Kwam Uit De Ruimte will also show us what they've got that night.

Well that's it for now! My head is spinning because of all the different dates, bands, costs, whatsoever... Catch you later!

Out of the studio, out of the smell of farts

Finally we're out of the stinking studio! We're done recording and we are very stoked to hear the final mix and master... It's gonna be great! Nico (Smash the Statues) did a hell of a job letting us sound like we can actually play our instruments, respect!

So we'll have an EP out soon, besides that we're now arguing about t-shirt designs. Rick is working on it, we hope to have the t-shirts by June.

Sweet Empire is on the rise so please keep checking this page for all the updates! Thanks for your support!

confirmed. Sunday September 6th we'll play the Fighting Cocks in Kingston! You better be there! :)
Also it's quite fun to note we have won a local band battle and we are now priviliged to play the main stage of the famous Beeckestijn Festival. We'll perform at 16:30 amongst other acts such as: DeWolff, De Kift, De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, Che Sudaka, and Drive Like Maria! Don't miss it; Saturday June 13th: beeckestijnpop.nl
Besides that we have won studio time at the Popbunker, IJmuiden. More info on what this exactly means will follow. For all you Dutchies out there see the press release(s) here:

update: t-shirts, EP, UK tour

We're working hard on sorting out t-shirts, the lay out / packaging of our EP and a UK tour.
More info on the first two subjects soon, now we'll elaborate a bit more on the UK tour because we might need YOUR help!
We're looking for shows August 21st through August 24th. Preferably South England, but hey, that's preferably. We're not asking for much; some gas money, food, a place to stay the night would be amazing! If you can help us in any way (gig, contacts, tips, hints, etc.) please get in contact.
You can contact us via Myspace or mail us at sweetempire [at] gmail.com
Thanks a lot!
